9 Flaggy Rock; Taming the Jungle Week4

It is the start of our week four and we have a shipping container arriving on Wednesday so we are preparing the site. The site is just inside our boundary near our front gate.We would have preferred it closer to the sheds but for now we don't want to push our luck. This was a much more successful and controlled burn...

It is Monday and Jenelle has dropped John down to the farm and driven to Mackay to order the kitchen vanity and laundry as well as a list the size of an A4 sheet of paper. John is ringing Jenelle every hour so she knows he is safe. He is able to get the first new Fascia on while she is away...

More discoveries...big holes in the vegetation. Who knows what else is in there.....

Tuesday the ground for the container is now raked and smoothed and walked and jumped on to ensure a truck can drive on and deliver our container......

The first sheet of our roof in going on.....

We have had many visitors trying to get too the beach and drive all over our property and make the roads worse than they are now. This one used another entrance but then drove onto our land and we had a long walk to see what it was. We have been told we have to approach all trespassers and ask them to leave. When they don't or they give us any trouble then we can call the police. This is very difficult at the moment as they all have vehicles and we are on foot.....

Our first sheet of internal wall is going on....

The containers arrives a day and a half late but we have an arrival.....

What a beautiful site. Now we can lock things up.....

Thursday before Easter and we have the electrician back to wire up the Studio. He has two apprentices and takes them through the process....

Overnight we have had visitors. Looks like they did a circle and left....

Brologas walking on our place. The sound of them calling is lovely in the still morning....

Pearce has arrived to spend Easter 2012 with us and the fisherman are getting the lines ready. We have a forty minute walk to the beach. John out front with the brush cutter. Jenelle in the middle with eskies and Pearce behind with fishing gear and shovel...

What a glorious site full tide on Easter Saturday around 11.30am.....

The fishing begins......

The first catch of the day was a whiting caught by Jenelle....

Today we are just fishing for fun as we have no way or getting fish back to the shed.

John with a catfish....

Then Pearce goes on to catch the whole family of catfish.....

Some catfish end up as crab pot bait and we throw in our first pot before leaving to walk back to the farm sheds......

Easter Sunday and the Easter bunny did leave something in those smelly hats.....

And he also left some in our shoes outside......

The walk to the beach is much easier today as we are not carrying so much.We were delighted to catch our first crab and put him in a bucket. Unfortunaltely for us while we were off having a good time fishing he got out of the bucket and back in the ocean to live another life......

Once again Jenelle has the first catch and today we are keeping our fish in the hope we have enough for a meal. A good size whiting......

John has a good size Flathead on his line.....

What a wonderful place to be......

Our catch in total 4 whiting and 1 flathead plenty for dinner.....

Back to the farm and since Pearce is here to help us we decide to burn the mango tree pile.....

Also the pile between the sheds.....
